Ready for Summer '15?

Now is the perfect time to prepare for the summer! Do not miss this opportunity during our mild winters in Hill Country Texas to make even small improvements in our outdoor living spaces. Take this time to step back and look at your yard. It is recommended to limit your yard to 1/3 turf, 1/3 hardscape and 1/3 planting beds.

Bermuda and St. Augustine Floratam are the two recommended types of grass to plant in the San Antonio area. St. Augustine can thrive in alkaline soils and in moderate shade to full sun. Having superior color, a hefty grower and spreading quickly, St. Augustine will need more water than other types of grass.
Bermuda grass is drought resistant and provides quick coverage. It is very durable, not requiring fertilizer and bears high traffic well. Bermuda will go dormant during drought conditions, but greens right up as soon as moisture returns. It will need to be edged frequently around trees and fences as it spreads quickly.
